Our Mission
The Lake Mills Food Pantry serves individuals and families in the Lake Mills School District. Qualifying clients may use the pantry once a week and select their own food choices from our shelves, freezer and refridgerator. Our goal is to provide a variety of food in a respectful environment to anyone who finds themselves in need.
How To Qualify
We serve a large variety of people. The main qualification is a need for food. Elderly people on fixed incomes, the unemployed and families new to the area are just some of the examples of who we helpm For families with children, qualifying for free or reduced school lunches also qualifies you for the food pantry.
If you are unsure if you meet our criteria, please stop by during our regular business hours with proof of Lake Mills residency. Please allow about 3 minutes for your visit.
Donations
The Lake Mills Food Pantry receives about 85% of its support directly from the community in the form of food and cash donations. Any non-parishable food can be brought to the pantry during our normal business hours or taken to the St. Vincent de Paul donation area during donation drop off hours. Cash Donations are used to purchase food from Lake Mills Market and other retail locations. We also partner with Second Harvest Food Bank and Community Action Coalition to receive food.
Volunteers
Our organizationis run entirely by volunteers. We have no paid staff. Volunteers help by working directly with clients, stocking shelves, unloading the delivery trucks, helping with food drives and picking up large donations. We can accommodate almost any schedule. Please call if you are interested in giving some of your time to helping others within our community.
